The Wiggles!

The WigglesLast week (April 18) we took Jaden to see The Wiggles! But I couldn't figure out how to get the pictures out of my camera phone until yesterday. (Thanks Carleton!)

Phones don't take very good pictures, but here they are.

Too bad Jaden wasn't feeling well that day. He managed to wave good-bye to The Wiggles, but he didn't dance during the concert. Normally he loves The Wiggles. (Ok, so do I.)

Giants 7, Mets 9

Jaden at Giants gameI took Wed off work and went to the Giants game with Cindy and Jaden. It was a beautiful day at AT&T Park. Too bad the Giants lost in 11 innings, 7 to 9.

We almost left in the top of the ninth with the Giants trailing by 3. But we stayed because Cindy suspected the Giants would come back. She was right! With two outs, Alou gets to first base and an RBI because of a difficult throw from 3rd. Now down two runs, Barry Bonds comes in and pinch-hits a home run to tie the game! It was his 711th career home run, and the crowd went nuts. Even Jaden was jumping and cheering.

It was a fun game to watch with action and scoring almost every inning. Jaden also enjoyed the Coca-Cola slide, and made me go down with him over and over.

Here are a couple photos just before the camera battery died at the beginning of the game.

Parking Lot Carnival

Jaden at the CarnivalWe went shopping today and couldn't resist the travelling carnival in the parking lot.

Jaden got onto the crazy high swing with me without any problems, but he almost didn't make it onto the demolition cars because he was half an inch short of the requirement. Cindy had to stare the operator down for an exception. Photos here.

We also took some cute video tonight of Jaden teaching Natalie to clap her hands. He's being very helpful with his little sister nowadays. Here is Jaden helping with Natalie's bath. Natalie loves bath time!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!Happy Easter everyone!

We actually made it to Church on time for Easter service -- and no kids or clothing left behind.

Afterwards, we had a nice Easter brunch at the San Jose Fairmont with both my brother (Andy and Lisa and Cindy's brother (Tony and Nhi). Food always tastes fancier when served with ice sculptures and two grand pianos. And of course we all gourged at Grandpa Hoang's expense.

More photos here on Flickr.

Hope you had a happy Easter weekend!

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Ethan's One Year Birthday

Pictures from Ethan's one year birthday party.

Ethan just turned one, and he is already walking around on his own! But will he ever dance like Jaden?

No Meltdowns at Ice Age 2

Ice Age 2

Yesterday we took Jaden to his first movie! And he didn't even need a ticket (children under 3 are free). We went to see Ice Age 2, The Meltdown -- a movie title which didn't bode well for our confidence. But we worried for naught, as it turned out to be lots of family fun. Jaden sat on mommy's lap, enjoyed his popcorn and generally paid attention to either the movie or the retractable armrests. Jaden did talk, laugh and fake-laugh loudly, but there were a lot of other kids there too so he wasn't the only one.

As for the movie, it was at least as good as the first one, which we've watched on DVD about 40 times and counting. Everyone (especially Jaden) loved Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel. So if you liked the first one, I definitely recommend the second. If you haven't seen either, Madagascar is even better.

After the kids went to bed, Cindy and I also watched A Day Without a Mexican. The movie did a nice job of making its points, but was otherwise extremely boring. I recommend waiting for whatever happens after DVD.
